Another thought – was the company keeping him engaged as an employee? If he was doing as well as they say in the first 90 days, what made him stray elsewhere? It’s a bit like a marriage, the employer and employee. I do agree that this isn87&21#;t the first time this has been done, it is just shocking when the person gets caught because they are not doing either job well enough not to keep them. The good news, next time hopefully the client will turn to you to make the placement so that you can keep tabs on something like this by continuing to touch base with the employee after he is hired.
